A particle of charge 1.8 μC is at the center

A particle of charge 1.8 μC is at the center of a Gaussian cube 55 cm on edge. What is the net electric flux through the surface?

Solution:

We can use the following equation to figure out the net electric flux.

\Phi=\dfrac{q}{\epsilon_0}

(Where \Phi is the net flux, \epsilon_0 is permittivity of free space and q is the charge enclosed)

\Phi=\dfrac{1.8\times10^{-6}}{8.85\times10^{-12}}

\Phi=2.034\times10^{5} \dfrac{N\cdot m^2}{C}
